Hola y bienvenidos a Dominican Flave, mi esquinita Caribeña para compartir, mi amor por las bellezas de mí isla Taina "Quisqueya". Desde el año 1492 cuando fue descubierta por el Almirante Cristóbal Colón, ha sido la cuna donde la historia de América Comenzó a escribirse.
Vestigios históricos todavía adornan nuestra trayectoria, en cinco siglos de tradiciones y costumbres compartidas con el viejo mundo. Herencias tainas, europeas y africanas han prevalecido en nuestra alimentación y nuestra cultura las cuales también nos unen con nuestro vecino país Haití y las hermanas islas del Caribe. Nuestra isla tropical, la segunda antilla mayor del Caribe posee tesoros naturales exóticos. Con microclimas de diferentes temperaturas. Nuestras cordilleras, el Lago Enriquillo el más grande en el Caribe. El pico Duarte el punto más alto, las lomas, los ríos, los valles. Nuestras playas bañadas al norte por el océano Atlántico y las cálidas aguas al sur del mar Caribe. Bancos de coral y arenas blancas adornan los litorales, nuestros cayos y bahías.
Nuestra cocina criolla deliciosa y bien condimentada, con fusiones de herencias culinarias de todas partes del mundo nos identifica con nuestro rico sofrito. Las frutas tropicales y exóticas que llenan nuestros campos. Pieles de diferentes matices que se fusionan en un solo pueblo. Cosas palpables para ilustrar lo que se ve, en las calles, los barrios, las casas, los bohíos. Hogares de gente trabajadora y orgullosa de sus raíces. Los que se han destacado dentro y fuera de nuestros límites poniendo en alto nuestro nombre.
Campesinos, gente humilde dónde el café nunca se deja de brindar. Las mecedoras para saborearlo o disfrutar la siesta, o un juego de dominó con música pegajosa y bailable. Ritmos añejos y modernos se bailan al compás de la guira, la tambora y el acordeón; el Perico Ripiao, nuestro merengue. Lo que no se puede describir. Las sonrisas, los abrazos, los apretones de mano, la candidez reflejada en la gente humilde, en los niños, el humor y el léxico jocoso de nuestro hablar.

Hi and welcome to "Dominican Flave", my Caribbean corner to share my love for the beauties of my Taino island "Quisqueya". Since, when the Dominican Republic was discovered by Christopher Columbus, it has been the cradle where the writing of the history of America began. Historical ruins still adorn our trail of five centuries of traditions and customs shared with the old world. Inheritances from the Tainos, Europeans, and Africans have prevailed in our cooking and culture. These characteristics unite us with our neighbor Haiti and our sisters Caribbean Islands. Have exotic natural treasures, with microclimates of different Temperatures, our mountain ranges. Our tropical island, second Greater Antilles of the Caribbean which is the largest in the Caribbean. The Pico Duarte is the highest point of the Caribbean. The hills, The rivers, the valleys. Our beaches bathed by the Atlantic Ocean and hot waters Of the Caribbean Sea. Banks of corals and white sands adorn the coasts, our keys and bays.
Our condiments and delicious Creole cuisine with fusions of culinary inheritances from all parts of the world. What most identifies us is our delicious and unique sofrito. Our country fields filled with tropical and exotic fruits.
A vast range of skin colors that merge in a single nation.
The pride of our heritage is seen in the streets, the towns, the houses inside or outside our frontiers. Coffee is always served by the modest people anywhere. A rocking chair for enjoying a siesta or a game of Dominoes with our sultry danceable music. Aged and modern rhythms are danced to the compass of Guira, the tambora and the accordion; the Perico Ripiao-our merengue. The smiles, hugs, and hand shakes-the honesty reflected in the faces of the modest people and the humor of our language-things that cannot be described.
